Accepting Personal Responsibility: For Respect, For Yourself and Your Partner

You do not have to like or agree with your partner’s ideas; however, respect is crucial in any relationship.  The biggest indicator of the danger of any relationship is a lack of respect.

You will find it hard to receive respect if you do not give respect.  Without basic respect in your heart, from your mouth and in your actions, a marriage will not survive.

Think about the good characteristics of your partner, the things that you love about him or her, and keep those in mind as you talk about your differences.
